Everyday Practices for Earthlings
Everyday Practices for Earthlings

Part 4 of a 4-part series on the Earth Star
This is the final post in our series on the Vasudhara Chakra. In the first three, we introduced what it is, what it feels like when it is blocked, and what it feels like when it is flowing well. This post is about tending the flow — the small, everyday, sometimes very ordinary things we can do to re-open the connection with Earth.
Before we start, one important distinction. These are not grounding practices. Grounding is what brings your energy back into your body and into your safety in this moment — the work of the root chakra. Earthing is different. Earthing brings you into relationship with this specific planet — as a collaborator, a home, a beloved. Every practice below is designed for the second, not the first.
While many of us have forgotten how to consciously connect with the Earth, it is useful to recognise that there are also many living wisdom traditions and cultures where communing with the Earth is still an important part of their practices. They can offer a wealth of wisdom about how to connect more fully. Below, we have offered some starting points.
We've split the practices into three groups. Five practices you can do on your own with a fast return — you can try one today and feel the shift within minutes or hours. In part 2 of this blog, we will offer another five practices that build slow capacity over weeks and months, with returns that compound, because the Vasudhara Chakra responds to consistency more than to intensity. And finally, we will also post a series of short guided practices in the weeks and months to come for those who enjoy a more supported process.
Returning to the Earth Star: practices for a fast return
1. The Earth Star Meditation
This is the core practice. During meditation, Reiki, or any quiet moment, imagine a beautiful sphere of black light (containing all of the colours in their not-yet-expressed form) about one to two feet beneath your feet. See it as dense, rich, full of infinite potential.
With every inhale, allow Earth's life force to gently rise into your body. With every exhale, release stress, worry, and anything you no longer need back into the Earth — where it can be transformed and returned to the collective flow. You do not need to force anything. Simply allow the exchange.
Two to five minutes daily is enough. The effect is cumulative.
2. Receive Instead of Asking
Most spiritual practices involve asking. Try, instead, two to five minutes of asking nothing.
Simply notice: what is the Earth already giving me? Warmth. Gravity. Air. Water. Beauty. Food. Support. The list gets long, quickly.
This is a practice of receiving rather than seeking. It works because a blocked Vasudhara Chakra tends to keep us in seeking mode, always reaching for what is not yet here. Reception is the felt-sense of Earthed enough.
3. Practice "Enough"
Once each day, ask a genuine question: what is already enough?
Enough food. Enough time. Enough love. Enough resources.
Not a mantra — a real question, asked with curiosity. The Earth Star Chakra thrives on sufficiency, not on scarcity. Every time you find a real "enough" in your life, you widen the aperture of the Vasudhara.
4. Notice Reciprocity
At the end of each day, ask yourself two questions:
·Take a moment to consciously acknowledge TO the Earth, one thing you received from Her today.
For example, were you nourished, energised, inspired or supported by the Earth in some way today?
·Now take a moment to consciously acknowledge one contribution you have made into the flow of Earth consciousness today.
For example, have you offered something back into the system to help rejuvenate the Earth’s systems (composting (energetic or gardening), breathing out, taking responsibility for an impact you have on the Earth (recycling, watering, caring for other plants, critters and beasties, cleaning up litter, etc).
Relationships are always reciprocal. Noticing the reciprocity — even in a whispered end-of-day check-in — trains the Vasudhara out of extraction and into exchange. This meditation supports us to intentionally foster a reciprocal relationship with the Earth that moves us beyond experiencing the Earth as a resource.
5. Introduce Yourself to the Land
Visit a place you love. Say aloud: "Hello. My name is [your name]. Thank you for letting me walk here." Pause for a moment and notice any response as the land meets you.
Not because the land needs your introduction — because relationship begins with acknowledgement. This is a fast-return practice the first time you try it. Many people notice something shift in the body within minutes: a softening, a landing, a felt-sense of being met.
We hope you enjoy a deepening connection and flow with your Vasudhara (Earth-Star) Chakra. In the next blog post, we will share a few practices for more sustained connections which build over time.
